Did you know that the concept of Movember came up over few beers at the Gypsy Bar, at Fitzroy, a suburb of Melbourne? In 2003, two friends Travis Garone and Luke Slattery from Melbourne, Australia were having beer at the Bar on Brunswick St, Fitzroy when their conversation turned to moustache and how they can bring it back. They decided to make a campaign about Men’s health and prostate cancer. They worked out guidelines, logo and agreed to charge $10 to grow Moustache. They sent out an e-mail titled ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH TO BE MY MAN? Believe it or not 30 men took up the challenge.
